Meet Jackie Villevoye
Jackie Villevoye is the Dutch fashion and textile designer behind Jupe by Jackie. She founded the label in 2010, at the age of 54, bringing together her instinctive approach to colour, proportion and individual design with the exceptional possibilities of hand embroidery.
What began with ties and accessories has grown into a distinctive collection of clothing for Women and Men, hand embroidered ties and pieces for the home.
An individual point of view
Jackie has always been drawn to objects, clothing and interiors with character. Uniformity holds little appeal. Her attention naturally goes to an unexpected colour combination, a precise proportion or a detail that changes the feeling of an entire design.
That point of view became the starting point for Jupe by Jackie. The intention was not to follow conventional fashion rules, but to create pieces that feel individual and retain their character beyond a single season.
Why hand embroidery
Jackie first explored the idea of designing ties for women. Rather than using printed fabrics, she became interested in embroidery as a way to give every motif depth, texture and individuality.
Hand embroidery also made it possible to work in smaller quantities and to develop colourways and designs without relying on large-scale production. Each motif could be approached as an individual composition, with close attention to colour, scale and placement.
Jackie travelled to India in search of skilled embroiderers who could translate these ideas into precise handwork. This became the beginning of a longstanding collaboration with the atelier in Uttar Pradesh.

Design, translated by hand
Jackie develops each design through instinct and observation. Ideas may begin with a colour, an artwork, a detail in an interior or the proportions of a garment. The motif is then refined before being translated into embroidery by the skilled team in the atelier.
The embroidery is never treated as an addition placed on top of a finished idea. Its position, colour and intricacy are considered as part of the complete design.
Because every piece is worked on individually, subtle variations naturally appear. These differences are part of the character of hand embroidery and ensure that no two pieces are exactly alike.
From ties to a complete collection
Ties remain central to Jupe by Jackie. A single hand embroidered tie can transform a familiar suit, while a different design can give that same suit an entirely new expression.
The collection has expanded to include clothing for Women and Men, accessories and embroidered pieces for the home. Across every category, the same attention is given to composition, craftsmanship and individual character.
Jupe by Jackie has also collaborated with names including Comme des Garçons and Drake’s, bringing the embroidery to an international audience while retaining the independent character of the label.
Made to order, made more personal
Many Jupe by Jackie pieces are made to order. Depending on the design, adjustments can be made to length, fit, colour, embroidery or proportion.
This way of working follows naturally from the hand embroidery process. It allows a selected piece to be created with individual attention and gives customers the opportunity to make considered personal choices.
