On November 3, 1957, the Russian spaceship Sputnik II was launched with the dog Laika as passenger. This armchair is conceived as a tribute to that first being in the cosmos. The spindly legs of the chair refer to the Sputnik, the wide armrests to the cabin and the lines to Laika’s spotted fur.
